Erick Gargantiel is an amateur photographer and hobbyist but above all, an animal-lover with a keen interest in amphibians. By no means an expert, but have kept various species of poison dart frogs (Dendrobatidae) endemic to several Central and South American locales since 2002.

The TailsandToepads name is inspired by the two main stages of amphibians in their life cycle - the metamorphosis, if you will.

This website is intended to be a corner of the web that allows me to showcase my pet collection and share the many photographs of various frog species I’ve encountered and/or currently work with in the poison dart frog hobby. I hope it can be a source of information, inspiration, or ideas, for your own hobby and interests.

Thank you for stopping by. Enjoy!
